By the Luggage Storage Hub team

T2 tram at the Unità stop next to Santa Maria Novella, Florence

In short: from Florence airport (Peretola / Amerigo Vespucci), the T2 tram takes about 20–25 minutes to the Unità stop, next to Santa Maria Novella station. From there it’s a short walk to our lockers in Via Palazzuolo 170. Leave your bags and start exploring.

Florence’s small city airport is connected to the centre by the T2 tram line, the cheapest and most reliable way into town. Whether you’re going straight to your hotel or arrived too early to check in, here is how to get from the plane to the city, and from the city back to the plane, with as little luggage hassle as possible.

T2 tram: airport → Santa Maria Novella

  • Where: the tram stop is just outside the arrivals area.
  • Direction: “Unità” (city centre).
  • Journey time: about 20–25 minutes.
  • Frequency: every few minutes at busy times; the service runs from early morning until after midnight.
  • Tickets: buy a standard urban ticket from the machines at the stop or in the official app, and validate it on board. It’s valid for 90 minutes, also on other trams and buses.
  • Luggage: the trams are low-floor and have space for suitcases.

Check timetables and current fares on the official public transport website before travelling.
